Today is the day, we grant two products their long overdue maintenance. Maintenance always sounds boring, I hear you. But let me remind you that this also means we do and take care!
And what this actually is all about:
- Icinga Business Process Modeling v2.5.2
- Icinga Web Graphite Integration v1.2.5
Now let’s see what each release offers!
Icinga Business Process Modeling
- Acknowledged nodes and those that are in downtime, are now visible as such again while using the latest release of Icinga (2.15) and Icinga DB (1.4)
- This also makes the CLI flags
--downtime-is-ok
and--ack-is-ok
work again
- This also makes the CLI flags
- Process badges shown in the menu, now correctly determine states of root nodes not using the
AND
operator- The badges now also represent the total of the worst state found in a process (Previously all states were considered critical)
- The action link to clean up missing nodes is now only visible while modifying the process
- The sort control is now gone, in case a process is shown on the dashboard
- The menu does not break anymore, in case neither monitoring nor Icinga DB Web are enabled
- Exports to CSV/JSON now include the
is_acknowledged
flag
Icinga Web Graphite Integration
- Existing templates for plugins provided by Icinga for Windows now support their check multi perdata format
- The default timeout for connections to graphite has been lowered from 30 seconds to 10 seconds and is now configurable
- Graphs made by using a multi template now also work in case of mixed perfdata definitions
- Support for parameter
graph_debug
in host and service graph overviews (while using Icinga DB)
While working on this release, our colleagues at NETWAYS also put some effort into supporting go-graphite/carbonapi. As it turns out, v0.16.1 (August 2023) added support for a critical API endpoint. However, it isn’t fully compatible and a working release is still due.
